Competition Information
Contestants will be evaluated within competition groups, comprised of participants in the same category and age group. The competition group is a collection of contestants who register in the same category and the same age group. Schedule:
The competition schedule is organized by timeslot, with each slot lasting 30-45 minutes. Contestants within the same timeslot can enter the competition room together. One timeslot may contain multiple competition groups (each evaluated individually). The schedule, available two weeks after registration closes, will be posted on our website.
Evaluation Process:
· Contestants will be evaluated by their competition group.
· In qualified categories, contestants are assessed individually, rather than competing against each other. Multiple first-place winners may be awarded by the Judges in all qualified categories. However, in Open and Prodigy categories, competition is not only evaluated individually but also against other participants. Typically, there is only one first-place winner or even none if the Judge is unsatisfied with any performance in the group.
· Each performance will be evaluated by two or three judges based on presentation, technique, musicality, and overall combination.
· Judges will provide opinions or suggestions on comment sheets and award contestants 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th place.
· Winners of each competition group in the Open and Prodigy categories qualify for the Grand Prize Contest.
Result, Commenting Sheet, and Trophy
After each time slot, judges will determine placements and provide results to event administrators for recording and error-checking. Results will be displayed on our posting board one hour after the time slot. All contestants will receive copies of the comment sheet, a certificate of winning, and a trophy. In some cases where the trophy is unavailable on-site, we will mail trophies to winners a few weeks after the competition. Trophies will be distributed after the results are posted. For those unable to wait for the results and prefer a drop/ship option, please provide shipping information at the trophy desk. Please note, shipping and handling charges may apply. Kindly follow staff instructions on-site and ensure name plate accuracy. Any errors should be communicated to our staff for appropriate corrections.
Requirements during the competition
· The competition room will have two judges and a coordinator. Contestants must adhere to their instructions; failure to do so may result in disqualification or expulsion from the competition room.
· Ensure you have two copies of the evaluation forms before entering the competition room. Evaluation forms are available on the RusLan Conservatory website.
· Proper performance attire is required, considering that presentation is one of the adjudication criteria.
· Avoid direct approaches to judges unless necessary. All judges' decisions are final, with corrections only applicable to recording errors, improper comments, or processing mistakes.
· Music scores for pieces performed must be provided to judges for reference.
